Countdown To My Wedding

One Year Ago...

... I graduated college!! I can't believe it's already been a year!

I kind of feel like I haven't done much with my life since then. But really, my life has really changed since then! I moved back to Salt Lake, found a full-time job (that's a lot to say nowadays), got engaged, and bought a house! So I would say that's a lot of accomplishments in a year.

Sometimes I really miss school. Maybe not school itself, but the atmosphere, I guess. Sleeping in, going to class, coming home, having time to do whatever I need, going to work.. it was nice! And on top of that, having some AWESOME roommates that I always had fun with. Now.. same ol' same. Go to work, come home.. go back to work.. come home.. same thing every day. Same boring job every day. At least in school I was learning a new thing every day and it was challenging me. Now I feel like my brain is going to waste.

But oh well.. I have a job and so far, I've survived the multiple layoffs at the company. It's what is paying for my house, my food, my trip to Aruba (YAY!!), and everything else. So I am grateful for that. But still incredibly bored.

This week and the next little while is pretty crazy... closing on my house (and all the things that have come up with that), moving, getting my passport (they are only open 10-3:30.. when am I supposed to go in if I work from 7:30-4?!), being sick (finally getting better, though), and it just seems like a lot! I'm feelin the stress of Finals week that everyone else is feelin.. and I'm not even in school!

Just felt like venting. Here's a picture of beautiful Lily, even though Christy already posted it. I just love her little teeth and her pierced ears!!

Growing Like a Weed... A Huge Weed

The weeds in my backyard are ridiculously huge. I have never seen such big weeds. Lucky for me, I have a Dad to provide the weedkiller and a boyfriend (well, fiance I guess.. weird!) to spray the weeds for me.

Best Easter egg hunt ever :)

Ryan and Christy helped Anthony and set this whole thing up. Everyone knew but me. We had to find 7 eggs... and me and Anthony found 6, then it took FOREVER to find the 7th one. Well, I find my last one, and the clue says I need to find one more!! So then I'm thinking, okay everyone has 8, not 7. Well, I'm looking for my last egg (with the VAGUEST clue possible) and notice everyone seems to be done. So I'm asking how many eggs there are and everyone tells me 7!

I was so confused as to why I had to find 8, but everyone else only had to find 7. I was getting mad, too :) I couldn't find the last egg anywhere. I searched the whole upstairs, then finally moved to the downstairs. I was searching frantically, then noticed Anthony had an egg in his hand. He had finally found our 8th egg! Or.. it was planned for him to have it....

So then he "drops" it, which forces him to get down on his knee (thanks to Ryan for that idea). And the rest.. well.. I don't even remember what he said.

It's been a while...

...not that anything exciting has happened! I did get a new laptop.. which I am using now. That's about as exciting as it gets!

So I suddenly have developed a cold.. so I feel like crap. I needed a laugh, so I watched the video of Lily eating peas. Oh man, how I love her! Her facial expressions are priceless!

Anytime you need a smile, she can cheer you up! She is so friendly and happy - thanks Ryan and Christy for letting me babysit her so much so I can laugh at (or with..) her :)

Skiing.. in the rain?

Last Saturday, we went up to Deer Valley with my dad to go skiing. It is a really nice resort..but it was raining! When has it ever rained up in Park City.. in JANUARY? It was crazy!! The snow was sooo icy and we got soaked. I had to sit in the lounge in the afternoon to dry off and warm up. Luckily, too, my dad had an extra sweater and hat that I borrowed.

So there's a new addition to our family.. the green monster! (I would rather have gotten a puppy.. but whatever)

It was fun.. until somebody blew out the clutch yesterday.... (and yeah, he's wearing shorts in that picture. He's crazy like that)

Thanksgiving and Christmas

It has been such a great holiday season! Here is a picture from Thanksgiving

Christmas has been a lot of fun! Eric and Jamie were here with their kids and friend Brooke. We had a lot of different Christmas parties with all the different families. I feel like I haven't even been home for the past two weeks. But yesterday I was finally able to be home and sleep! Until I realized that my house was a disaster.. so it needed a good scrub-down. 3 hours later, it looks like my house again! I still need to take down the Christmas decorations.. I will be sad to take down the tree.. so that will definitely be last.

This is the Christmas Tree we stood in line at Home Depot for. I am very proud of our $49 tree!

Something always has to be sacrificed anytime I attempt to do anything involving even a hint of creativity. In this case, it was our carpet. The candle that was in the candle warmer somehow ended up spilled all over... At least our carpet will always smell like pumpkin spice.

Last night we went to the Real Salt Lake game against the NY Red Bulls. It was the first game in the new stadium! It was packed; they said it was sold out!

We got the house next to Ryan and Christy! YAY! So we close tomorrow.. then we can start painting and move in this weekend!

When we first went to look at it, we were looking at a condo in Taylorsville and our realtor (Wayne) mentioned that the house next to Ryan and Christy was available.. and that we could go look at it right away! But by the time we got there, Wayne had found out it was under contract and that the sale was most likely going to go through. Ahh! But I had a feeling about that house.. I mean, what are the chances that it would come up for sale at the exact time we were looking? So I told Anthony that if it was meant to be, we would get it. And we did! God wanted us to have this house and everything has been working out so well. I don't know what I've been doing lately to deserve this, but I guess He wants to help me! Everyone has been so wonderful and helpful.. my dad especially. And I know Ryan and Christy will continue to help me with everything. It's great to have a loving family!

So lucky me, Christy is going to help me paint! I was thinking a sage green in the living room and a gray blue in the bedroom. Then later I'll probably do just a tan in the other two bedrooms, and maybe a red accent wall in the bathroom.

Trying to Figure This Out..

I'm assuming there won't be too many people reading this that don't already know about me and Anthony.. so I won't post any sort of bio or anything. I'll just post new stuff.

We're currently trying to buy a place together.. we've put in offers on a condo in Taylorsville (straight out of the 1970s with yellow, yellow, and more yellow, with turquoise carpet) and on a house in West Valley right next door to Ryan and Christy. We're both really excited about that house (okay so I'm a lot more excited than Anthony, but at least he understands how happy it would make me to live right next door to them). Then I could play with Christy and Lily all the time!! And get a puppy!
